PBS Demand White Paper On SAS?

PARTI Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Information Chief Datuk Johnny Mositun and his party leadership should demand for the Barisan Nasional (BN) State government to come up with a ‘white paper’ on the Saham Amanah Sabah (SAS) fiasco, if they are really concerned about the issue, said Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Treasurer, Datuk Wong Yit Ming.

Wong said this would be the appropriate thing that Mositun and his party leaders should do instead of repeatedly issuing vague, baseless and misleading statements concerning the issue, which does not help the SAS investors at all, but at the same time unfairly implicating SAPP President, Datuk Yong Teck Lee on the SAS fiasco.

“The people of Sabah have the right to know what’s the actual cause of the SAS fiasco and since the PBS are now in the Barisan Nasional, it should hence demand for the State government to come up with a ‘white paper’ on the issue, so as to inform the people of the truth. Any person, including the BN leaders, if they are involved in it and found guilty, should be charged according to the law. The BN State government must not attempt to protect any wrongdoer including their own kind,” stressed Wong in a statement issued here today.

He nonetheless thanked Mositun for subsequently issued a press statement on Tuesday, acknowledging that Yong has done nothing wrong in the SAS fiasco.

In his rebuttal, Mositun stressed that it had never occurred to him to accuse Yong of wrongdoing or criminal liability with regard to the SAS fiasco, adding that his contention that “many investors had bought the shares when Datuk Yong Teck Lee was Chief Minister” could not be construed as accusing him (Yong) of wrongdoing.

“All I said was as Chief Minister then Yong had a responsibility to have the matter investigated and acted upon, not that he was guilty of wrongdoing. But from all his public statements on the issue and the police reports he has lodged, it appears that he knows much more than he will admit. Yet he wants to accuse me, Dr. Yee Moh Chai and Chin Tet Ming of ‘concealing’ information. Another irony,” Mositun said. -Sabahkini

White paper is needed.Something solid have to be taken.Talking and debating with no end are not the solution.

  2. Setsuna on January 7th, 2010 at 4:31 pm

Facts and solid points is needed in the “white paper”..Otherwise, this will another never-ending story..

  3. GD on January 7th, 2010 at 4:33 pm

This is the first I’ve read about Johnny Mositun voicing out on something…

But anyway, the SAS fiasco must end a.s.a.p in order to put everyone at ease..

A White Paper would be more appropriate for Warisan Harta Fiasco in 1997, where Warisan swapped 32 million shares of The Blue Chip stock, MISC (@RM5.70X32,000,000=RM182,400,000) against 3 million NBT shares valued at RM32 per share (RM96,000,000) and 4.7 million Sugarbun shares valued at RM8.75 per share (RM41,125,000). Obviously, RM182m minus RM137m (RM96m+RM41m) equals RM45,000,000 , and this is the short-changed suffered by Sabah Govt and its people during this ‘peculiar’ transaction in 1997. And after the crisis , Sugarbun and NBT shares crashed to RM0.19 and RM0.50 respectively , whilst MISC has increased higher and higher!
Everyone knows Sugarbun and NBT were owned by Joseph Ambrose Lee, a good buddy of a former CM during those Rotation Days….

Every one is CTSB.

  6. faith on January 8th, 2010 at 10:20 am

Yes setuju dengan Hamid…tapi kes kena diberikan perhatian juga coz ia melibatkan ramai orang jg…sambil2 siasat kes SAS, buat sesuatu la tentang pendatang haram dan IC palsu…

  7. Amy on January 8th, 2010 at 10:27 am

  8. Bukan Unduks on January 8th, 2010 at 10:39 am

We must thank to Datuk Musa Aman, he has done a good job actually. He had done many efforts to improve SAS.

  9. Av on January 8th, 2010 at 10:44 am

Hal ini sudah lama berlaku. Kenapa sekarang baru timbul? Selesaikan isu ini dengan segera, jangan lengah2kan lagi.

  10. foku on January 8th, 2010 at 11:16 am

There is nothing to do with this issue anymore. We must to concentrate to many cases, just like Hamid said. We still have the long live issue like PTI, IC and so on.

  11. inspektor Saab on January 8th, 2010 at 11:20 am

  12. songkilou-kilou on January 8th, 2010 at 11:22 am

  13. Kotobian on January 8th, 2010 at 11:52 am

Damn you poorman, why did you mention sugarbun. I so wanted to eat the fish fillet on top of raisin rice. But it discontinued. How cruel of you to remind me.

  14. roxy on January 8th, 2010 at 11:58 am

I know how you feel, Kotobian. Nowadays Sugarbun only have the crappy stuff. No wonder they closed down one by one. I miss A&W… Come back… come back….

The wisest investment that cause sas become a piece of waste paper were made during YTL as CM. He must answer and take responsibility.

I believe that the SAS Fiasco should be investigate to bring the people who responsible for the failure to be bring to justice…it is because it is not fair for others investor that has lost their savings or money…

Other than that, the investigation finding will give us some light about the cases & taking this case as a example for us in the future.

  33. naik darah on January 12th, 2010 at 3:10 pm
