Pertubuhan bukan kerajaan (NGO) Majlis Perundingan Islam Malaysia (Mapim) mendakwa syarikat penerbangan negara Malaysia Airlines (MAS) menipu penumpang Islam apabila mengenakan caj arak dalam tiket mereka.

Kenyataan itu susulan pendedahan Timbalan Menteri Pengangkutan Datuk Ab Aziz Kaprawi baru-baru ini mengatakan harga tiket yang dibeli penumpang merangkumi semua kemudahan dalam pesawat termasuk makanan dan minuman.

"Memaksa orang Islam beli tiket termasuk kos hidangan arak suatu penipuan yang sangat berat implikasinya kepada orang Islam," kata presiden Mapim, Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid yang dipetik dalam Sinar Harian hari ini.

Langkah tersebut menyebabkan ramai pengguna Islam yang menggunakan penerbangan MAS tidak selesa dengan keadaan tersebut, kata Azmi.

"Sudah tentu sekarang penumpang Islam akan berasa sangat tidak selesa bila mengetahui mereka mensubsidi arak untuk penumpang lain.

"Harus diingat ada ramai bukan Islam yang tidak suka arak tetapi terpaksa juga bayarnya dalam tiket penerbangan MAS," katanya.

Beliau juga menggesa Majlis Fatwa Kebangsaan mengeluarkan fatwa mengenai isu tersebut dan membidas MAS dan Putrajaya kerana gagal menyediakan polisi mengikut landasan Islam walaupun sudah hampir 50 tahun syarikat penerbangan itu diterajui pengerusi beragama Islam.

"Kami berpendapat sangat pelik ketika MAS sudah berusia 50 tahun, polisi mengenai arak dan pakaian pramugari masih tidak dapat ditentukan kerajaan yang diterajui pengurusan beragama Islam.

"Tidak wajar memberi alasan yang khidmat MAS membawa semua penumpang termasuk bukan Islam menjadi sebab hidangan arak," katanya.

Syarikat penerbangan negara tersebut sedang melalui proses pemulihan selepas mencatat kerugian berturut, di samping berdepan dua tragedi yang mendapat perhatian dunia tahun ini.

Putrajaya juga terpaksa campur tangan dalam usaha memulihkan syarikat penerbangan negara tersebut. – TMI
